2 pounds cubed steak
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 packet of brown gravy mix
2 cups beef broth
1 medium onion, sliced
8 ounces mushrooms, sliced (optional)
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
Cooked rice or mashed potatoes for serving
Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Season the cubed steaks with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
In a skillet over medium-high heat, add a splash of oil and sear the cubed steak for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
Place the seared (or raw) cubed steak into the crock pot.
Layer the sliced onions and, if using, the mushrooms over the steak in the crock pot.
In a bowl, whisk together the brown gravy mix, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and dried thyme until smooth.
Pour the gravy mixture over the steak and vegetables in the crock pot.
